I picked up this book for two reasons: One, I couldn't wait to get my hands on anything else featuring author Sophie Kinsella, and two, it gave me a chance to get acquainted with some more of chick-lit's greatest writers. On a whole, GIRL'S NIGHT IN was an average read. Suffice it t...

This is not really the kind of book that is good for me to read straight through, but that's what I'm doing because that is how I read my books. It is, however, a beachy, soaking-in-the-tub, not requiring a lot of thought sort of read. Lots of well-known chick-lit authors contrib...

I am on a bit of a short story kick. I have another one of these books by the same title to read, it is a series of short stories by famous authors that were put together by red dress ink and the proceeds benefit a charity. I am not sure how many versions were done, this one I just ...

I ended up with this book somewhat by accident but glad I did. It gave me a chance to sample the writing of various authors so now I have a nice list of new (to me) authors to check out. I'm most excited about Sarah Mlynowski but there were a lot of really strong female writers feature...

OK - so as I was reading this I kept thinking it sounded so familiar . . . guess I've already read it. It has short stories from many of my favorite chick lit authors, so it is a fun read. The stories are quick too! ...

I have read a few previous books by some of the authors who wrote short stories for this one. That being said I wasn't in love this this collection. Out of 12 stories I only enjoyed a handful. My favorites were "Traveling Light," "Know it All," and "What Goes Around." The collection of...

Yes, I know, more chick lit, aaaaaiiiyah! But this was a collection of short stories, to benefit the War Child charity. Had I actually bought it, instead of renting it, I'd probably feel like one of those Good PeopleŠ you hear so much about. In any case, with any compilation, you get ...

I'm starting to think that maybe I'm just not a person who enjoys the short story - although I like the idea of a quick read and getting an opportunity to read from a sampling of a variety of authors, this collection was disappointing. Maybe I had too high of hopes for it after the boo...

(Review was originally posted on Alexa Loves Books) The reason I picked up this book was because two of my favorite authors wrote short stories for it - Meg Cabot and Sophie Kinsella. Plus, I love a good short story and the book promised to contain a bunch of stories geared towards ...

I am not a huge fan of short story collections but I decided to pick up `GIRLS NIGHT IN' because some of the stories were penned by some of my favorite authors in the chick-lit genre and some by authors that I have never read but wanted to. Unfortunately, I cannot say that I was impres...

I would say two thirds of the short stories were crap. The authors didn't make money off this book because it was for charity and it seemed like some of them didn't bother to put effort into their story because of that. There were a couple great stories though that left me wanting more...

First off, I didn't finish this book. I started out really liking the book, but once I got to Dating the Enemy by Lauren Henderson, I hit a brick wall and became uninterested in finishing her story and the rest of the book. However, I did skip forward to Jennifer Weiner's story since i...

I used to love anything by Red Dress Ink. I've read books by most of the authors in here and picked it up not only for that reason but also because I remember RDI books fondly from my early 20s. I knew it'd be fun and easy and light. Plus I meant to read this 10 or so years ago when it...
